From Wiki

This page contains the policies and rules for editing the From Wiki. The From Wiki is a collaborative, fan-made encyclopedia, and good-faith contributions are welcome and encouraged. However, these guidelines are in place to maintain the site's organization and reliability.

Perspective & Point of View

The wiki has an in-universe point of view. For example, the first lines of Boyd Stevens' article read: "Boyd Stevens assumes the role of both Sheriff and de-facto Mayor of the Town," not "Boyd Stevens is a main character on From."

Articles should also maintain a neutral point of view on characters and events. Personal opinions are welcome and can be shared in comments sections or discussion pages, but should not be presented as fact.

Canon

Canon includes the bodies of work that are “officially” part of the FROM universe. Thus far, this almost entirely consists of the aired episodes of the show, along with a small amount of information from the show’s official social media. Information from aired episodes supersedes information from any other official source. Thus, should information within an episode contradict something from the show's official social media, the information revealed in the episode takes precedence.

Due to the nature of this show, many fans have created elaborate and oftentimes convincing theories and speculations about many of the show’s mysteries. However, unless they are confirmed by the events of the show to be canon, they should not be treated as such.

Relevancy

Characters, episodes, seasons, certain objects and other topics merit their own page on this wiki. However, as the focus of this wiki is the specific universe of From. Therefore, topics such as "Boston" “cars” or “books” are not relevant to the wiki, while specific locations objects that are important to the plot such as the Clinic, the Grand Rapids Runner Bus or the Radio Tower merit their own pages.

Characters merit their own page when they are named and credited. Characters that are only mentioned but named are also worthy of a page.

  • As an example, Eric is a fairly minor character who appears in only one episode. However, his character is named and the actor is credited, therefore he has is own page.
  • Characters with credited actors but with no proper name such as "Colony House Resident" should not receive a page.

Regarding the Creatures, only Creatures that have credited actors should receive their own page. The title should be based on how they are named in the credits, which is usually related to their appearance (e.g. “Nurse Creature,” “Jock Creature”). Many of the Creatures’ actors are only credited for select episodes, but appear in more. Their pages should include information from all the episodes in which they appear, including those for which they are not credited.

Every individual season and episode should receive their own page.

Citations

Every character or object page should include references that are considered canon, meaning they are “officially” part of the FROM universe. The main reference used for the vast majority of information will be episodes. For example, the information on Boyd’s character page from the first episode will include a citation of the first episode. Certain information from the show’s official social media, such as the dates and locations where the characters went missing, can also be cited. For more information on canon: see above.

Images & Copyright

All images from the show must include a fairuse tag and credit MGM+. Images should be cropped to exclude things like the scrub bar (pause/progress bar).
